Scottish Independent Secondary School of the Year (2007)
St Mary's Music School was named as the Scottish Independent Secondary School of the Year (2007) in the Sunday Times Parent Power section, November 2007.
Academic Success
Academic results are consistently excellent and St Mary's Music School regularly comes at or near the top of the league tables for Scottish independent schools.
The Scotsman (16 May 2007) featured St Mary's Music School as a "School of Excellence" -
"Specialist school turns out brilliant musicians but also offers a great all-round education to its pupils - and consistently excels in exam league tables."
Most of our pupils proceed to Higher Education, studying music, but we are careful to ensure that pupils wishing to pursue other options have the necessary qualifications.
Our 2007 pass rate is 100% for all academic exams: SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority) Standard Grade, Intermediate 2, Higher and Advanced Higher and also A Level and AS Level Music, which are OCR (Oxford Cambridge and RSA) examinations.
